Beachcombing Memories by Scott Ruthven 8"x8" Oil on Gallery Canvas |
We like vacationing in Mexico and invariably bring home lots of shells, coral, and beach glass from our hours of walking the beaches. I dusted a couple of them off and set up this still life to contrast one enjoying the water and one looking in longingly. Don't worry, I let them both swim after the sitting ;-)
This one is lovely scott, love the light in the water. You also got the magnifying effect of the round bowl. Great work
ReplyDeleteYour subtle color shifts are so nice, Scott. You really made this painting come alive. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteParabéns por tão belas pinturas. Grande abraço.
ReplyDelete@Roger and @Darla, Thanks for your comments. I really enjoyed painting this piece. It probably took me 3 hours to set up the still life alone since I couldn't get the darn shell in the water to sit up right ;-). Once I started painting I kept finding more and more detail in the water reflections...the more you look, the more you see I guess.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
@Suzane, Gracias por sus amables palabras. Estoy feliz de que están siguiendo mi blog.
