Hallett Peak

Hallett Peak by Scott Ruthven
20"x16" Oil on canvas

This majestic peak climbs to 12,713 feet in Rocky Mountain National Park.  The view I've painted is just above Dream Lake.  Hallett Peak sits right on the Continental Divide and really is breathtaking.

I'd love your feedback and thanks for the "Likes"

  1. Magnificent painting, Scott! So strong and powerful and yet it has a beautiful softness, too.

  3. I like the composition; that vertical tree contrasts nicely with the mountain sweeping down from the left.

  4. I agree with Keith. And I think Dream Lake is aptly named - what a beautiful parking spot for an easel!

    1. Thanks Karen, painting up there can be tricky...a) so many things to paint b) the sun moves very fast and is blocked by the mountains early.
