Good to meet you Susan; thanks for visiting my blog. I'm always pleased when a painting brings someone back to a special place. I can't predict those connections when painting but rather trust that capturing the essence of a place or time will resonate with others. It's magic to see someone connect with a piece.
Hi Roberta, thanks for stopping by. Some painters get paint everywhere and it doesn't seem to bother them. I am NOT one of them. A tiny spot of Cadmium Red gone unnoticed can spread exponentially over your coat, seats, pants...you get the point. So, I paint very carefully when I'm in the car! If you wear good boots, lined pants, a good coat and of course a hat painting outside in the winter isn't bad at all. In fact, I don't even notice the cold while I paint (unless it's below 0 F).

DeleteVery nice, and brave! I'm afraid of the mess I'd make if I tried to paint in the car! But I've been itching to try a winter plein air painting.
